Bemus Point Village Casino: Strange & Unusual Spotlight

As if being haunted wasn’t enough to make you want to visit, they set a Guinness World Record for the most chicken wings served in 24 hours. Heaven does exist.

When summer arrives on Chautauqua Lake, the small town of Bemus Point comes alive. The Bemus Point Village Casino has been a part of entertaining tourists for almost a century, and its history dates back even further.

chicken-wingsThere is recent evidence that Native American tribes would gather in the early 19th Century where the village casino now sits. But it wasn’t until the 1930s that it opened as the casino, and it’s remained an entertainment mecca for the Chautauqua region ever since.

The most famous ghost haunting the casino is Chef Jordan Basile. Sadly, young Basile died in an explosion due to a malfunctioning oven. But you’ll only see him once every few years…
